My research journey began with my doctoral thesis, where I introduced a new bounded distribution, and since then, I have had the opportunity to collaborate internationally through research stays at George Washington University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

As my research evolved, I shifted my focus towards econometrics, specifically the analysis of collinearity, and I have since published several articles in high-impact journals. One of my most notable publications appeared in The American Statistician, which is ranked in the top 1 out of 125 journals in the field of «Statistics and Probability» (JCR indexed). I’ve had the privilege of presenting my work at international conferences, including a stay at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Ireland, in September 2022.

Since August 2022 (until february 2025), I have been leading the Junta de Andalucía research group «Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Business Administration» (SEJ-534), and I co-directed the FEDER project A-SEJ-496-UGR, which addressed new approaches to diagnosing and treating multicollinearity. I am also involved in academic leadership roles, including mentoring graduate students, serving on review committees for scientific journals, and participating in the editorial committee of Estudios de Economía Aplicada.

In addition to my academic responsibilities, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with industry through knowledge transfer contracts with the University of Almería and the University of Granada, and I have acted as an expert appraiser for various courts in Andalusia. I have codirected several doctoral theses in the areas of bounded distributions and multicollinearity treatment, all of which have been recognized with outstanding cum laudem distinctions. My work has been recognized in the academic community, with three six-year periods of positive evaluation by the Advisory Committee of the CNEAI, reflecting my ongoing commitment to advancing scientific knowledge.

On a personal level, I am the proud mother of two fantastic daughters. I am committed to the Sahrawi cause and actively support it as member of the «Asociación de Amigos del Sahara de Almería). I am also a patron of the Fundación Martín García Ramos, which is dedicated to preserving and promoting the poetic legacy of my grandfather. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and reading—two passions that continually inspire and enrich both my personal and professional life.

Contact:

cbgarcia@ugr.es

Office C-110.
