After obtaining a three-years degree in Optics and Optometry at the University of Granada (2007-2010), he conducted the Master in Clinical Optometry and Research in the \u201cCentro Boston de Optometri\u0301a\u201d at Camilo Jose\u0301 Cela University (2011). In the two following years, Jes\u00fas completed the Bachelor of Science in Optics and Optometry at the Camilo Jose\u0301 Cela University (2012-2014). In 2017, Jes\u00fas obtained an International PhD with a Cum Laude under the supervision of Dr. Raimundo Jim\u00e9nez and Dr. David C\u00e1rdenas. His research interests include the impact of physical and cognitive efforts on the ocular physiology, as well as the association between the level of physical and mental fatigue\/load and the visual function.<\/p>\n<p>He has conducted two international research stays of 3-months each at Western University of Health Sciences (Los A\u0301ngeles, USA) and University of California at Berkeley (San Francisco, USA). Jes\u00fas has also visited the Helicopter Simulation Centre at the base &#8216;Coronel Sa\u0301nchez Bilbao&#8217; (15 days). Jes\u00fas actively collaborate with researchers from different disciplines, which allow to cover all the relevant aspects of this line of research, and has established a network of international collaborators at top institutions (i.e., Columbia University, Durham University, etc.). Also, he has participated on three projects funded by the national I+D+i plan (DEP2013- 48211-R; DEP2017-89879-R; y SPIP2014-1426), and two projects funded by the University of Granada in collaboration with other entities. This trajectory has permitted him to publish more than 60 papers in journals indexed in Journal Citations Report and present more than 20 oral communications in international congresses.<\/p>\n<p>Remarkably, Jes\u00fas acts as Associate Editor in the Journal PeerJ, is in the top 3 of Spanish authors with more scientific publications within the category of \u201cOphthalmology\u201d of JCR in the last three years, and has been recognized with the extraordinary doctoral award in Science at the University of Granada.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>e-mail:<\/strong><\/em> &#x76;&#101;r&#x61;&#106;&#64;&#x75;&#x67;&#114;&#46;&#x65;&#115;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jes\u00fas Vera is Assistant Professor in the Department of Optics at the University of Granada.
