El estudio de estos socioecosistemas ha tenido un significativo desarrollo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os y ha planteado importantes cuestiones y retos de futuro respecto a su utilidad, eficiencia y preservaci\u00f3n. Su funcionamiento ha demostrado su gran capacidad de resiliencia a lo largo de siglos, incluyendo procesos de adaptaci\u00f3n a cambios socioecon\u00f3micos, pol\u00edticos o clim\u00e1ticos. Del mismo modo, se ha ido reconociendo cada vez m\u00e1s su papel no solo patrimonial y social, sino tambi\u00e9n las funciones y servicios ecosist\u00e9micos que prestan y su papel como generadores de paisajes con importantes valores culturales y ambientales. De entre estos ha destacado la alta capacidad de regulaci\u00f3n del agua que se consigue mediante la recarga de acu\u00edferos de alta monta\u00f1a y la gesti\u00f3n del riego y sus retornos. Estos hechos hacen que esta forma de manejo del agua se postule como una herramienta de adaptaci\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico, que ya ha demostrado su validez, al perdurar operativa desde la Edad Media hasta nuestros d\u00edas. Sin embargo, son tambi\u00e9n cada vez m\u00e1s los interrogantes sobre los mecanismos de funcionamiento social, tecnol\u00f3gico y ambiental; los efectos y verdadero potencial de estos sistemas, las formas de manejo y saberes tradicionales y las amenazas sobre su perdurabilidad que sobre ellos pesan debido a los cambios sociales, productivos, tecnol\u00f3gicos y demogr\u00e1ficos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Se trata de una propuesta interdisciplinar que pretende estudiar en detalle la cuenca del r\u00edo Mecina y el funcionamiento tecnol\u00f3gico, social, hidrol\u00f3gico e hidrogeol\u00f3gico de los sistemas hist\u00f3ricos de manejo de agua. El conocimiento y la evaluaci\u00f3n de estos sistemas de manejo permitir\u00e1n no solo analizar las formas y mecanismos de adaptaci\u00f3n en el contexto actual, sino proponer su uso e implementaci\u00f3n como herramientas de adaptaci\u00f3n y mitigaci\u00f3n frente a los impactos del cambio clim\u00e1tico y como sistemas de gesti\u00f3n integral de los recursos h\u00eddricos (IWRM).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Abstract:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The project proposes the evaluation of the environmental impact of the historical Sierra Nevada\u2019s water management systems. The study of these socioecosystems has had a significant development in recent years and has raised important questions and future challenges regarding their usefulness, efficiency and preservation. Their functioning has demonstrated their great capacity for resilience over centuries, including processes of adaptation to socioeconomic, political or climatic changes. Similarly, their role has been increasingly recognized not only in terms of heritage and social value, but also in terms of the ecosystem functions and services they provide and their role as generators of landscapes with important cultural and environmental values. Among these, the high water regulation capacity achieved through the recharge of high mountain aquifers and the management of irrigation and its returns has been highlighted. These facts make this form of water management a tool for adapting to climate change, which has already proven its validity, having remained in operation from the Middle Ages to the present day. However, there are also more and more questions about the mechanisms of social, technological and environmental functioning, the effects and true potential of these systems, the forms of management and traditional knowledge, and the threats to their sustainability that weigh on them due to social, productive, technological and demographic changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is an interdisciplinary proposal that aims to study in detail the Mecina river basin and the technological, social, hydrological and hydrogeological functioning of the historical water management systems.
