Ya est\u00e1 abierto el plazo de inscripci\u00f3n para participar durante el mes de <\/span>junio<\/span><\/b> en la <\/span>Campa\u00f1a de Laboratorio y Excavaci\u00f3n Arqueol\u00f3gica Bayra 2026<\/span><\/i>, una nueva edici\u00f3n del proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n que se desarrolla en el yacimiento del Cerro del Esp\u00edritu Santo de<\/span>\u00a0Vera (Almer\u00eda). La intervenci\u00f3n forma parte de la <\/span>Fase V del Proyecto General de Investigaci\u00f3n Bayra<\/span><\/i>, financiado por el Ayuntamiento de Vera y dirigido por el Grupo PRINMA (HUM-1035) de la Un<\/span>iversidad de Granada.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Situada en un punto estrat\u00e9gico de la frontera oriental del antiguo Reino Nazar\u00ed de Granada, Bayra constituye un enclave excepcional para el estudio del urbanismo, la arquitectura defensiva, los espacios dom\u00e9sticos y la vida cotidiana en \u00e9poca medieval y moderna. Desde 2021, las excavaciones han permitido documentar nuevas estructuras y materiales que siguen ampliando el conocimiento hist\u00f3rico sobre este importante asentamiento, destruido por el terremoto de 1518.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n La Campa\u00f1a Bayra 2026<\/span> ofrece a los estudiantes la posibilidad de integrarse en un proyecto arqueol\u00f3gico en curso y adquirir experiencia pr\u00e1ctica tanto en trabajo de campo como en laboratorio. Las ma\u00f1anas estar\u00e1n dedicadas a la excavaci\u00f3n en el yacimiento, mientras que las tardes se centrar\u00e1n en el tratamiento, clasificaci\u00f3n y registro de materiales, dentro de una investigaci\u00f3n consolidada orientada al conocimiento de la ciudad medieval de Bayra y su evoluci\u00f3n entre los siglos XI y XVI. De este modo, la campa\u00f1a constituye una excelente oportunidad para participar activamente en una investigaci\u00f3n arqueol\u00f3gica consolidada y contribuir al estudio y valorizaci\u00f3n de uno de los yacimientos medievales m\u00e1s destacados del sureste peninsular.<\/p>\n La participaci\u00f3n se organiza en tres turnos:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n El plazo de solicitud para junio finaliza el 6 de mayo\u00a0y la comunicaci\u00f3n de personas seleccionadas se realizar\u00e1 en el plazo de cinco d\u00edas h\u00e1biles. The project forms part of Phase V of the <\/span>Bayra General Research Project<\/span><\/i>, funded by Vera Town Council and led by the PRINMA Group (HUM-1035) at the University of Granada. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Situated at a strategic point on the eastern border of the former Nasrid Kingdom of Granada, Bayra is an exceptional site for the study of urban planning, defensive architecture, domestic spaces and daily life in medieval and modern times. Since 2021, the excavations have enabled the documentation of new structures and materials that continue to expand our historical understanding of this important settlement, which was destroyed by the earthquake of 1518. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bayra 2026 Campaign offers students the opportunity to join an ongoing archaeological project and gain practical experience in both fieldwork and laboratory work. Mornings will be devoted to excavation at the site, whilst afternoons will focus on the processing, classification and recording of materials, as part of an established research project aimed at understanding the medieval town of Bayra and its development between the 11th and 16th centuries. The campaign thus provides an excellent opportunity to play an active role in established archaeological research and to contribute to the study and appreciation of one of the most significant medieval sites in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula.<\/p>\n The programme is organised into three sessions: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The application deadline for June is 6 May, and successful applicants will be notified within five working days.
