Beatriz Redondo Cabrera obtained a four-years degree in Optics and Optometry at the University of Granada in 2016. At postgraduate level, she coursed the Master in Clinical Optometry at the University of Granada in 2017, and the postgraduate course in Pediatric Optometry and Visual Therapy at the Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2017. In 2019, Beatriz completed her International PhD with a Cum Laude. During the PhD, she completed a research stay at the University of Bradford (UK). In 2020 she received an award for the Scientific Activity of Young Researchers of the Academy of Mathematical, Physical, Chemical and Natural Sciences of Granada.
From April 2021, she works as assistant professor in the Department of Optics at the University of Granada. In 2022, she conducted a research stay at the New England College of Optometry (NECO), Boston (US), focusing on myopia progression.

Author of 68 articles published in journals indexed in Journal Citations Report, of which 10 are Q1 (14.7%), 29 are Q2 (42,65%), 27 are Q3 (39,71%), and 2 are Q4 (2,94%). She has collaborated in three projects funded by the national I+D+i plan (DEP2017-89879-R; SPIP2014-01426; PID2021-127505NA-I00), and two projects funded by the University of Granada in collaboration with other entities. Beatriz acts as Associate Editor in the Journal PeerJ. Her main lines of research are focused on the analysis of the accommodative function under different cognitive demands, and the effects of physical exercise on the visual system.
